VSF-B is looking for a Fundraising Officer

Context and role
The Communication & Fundraising Department in Brussels consists of 6 staff members. It informs the Belgian public and donors, institutions, universities and media about the work and mandate of DZG and raises private funds (private donations, sponsorships and legacies, support through companies, fundraising events...) to make the organisation's projects possible. Within the department we are looking for a Fundraising Officer.
Together with the Philanthropy Advisor, the Fundraising Officer will support the activities of our organisation by actively seeking new sources of funding.
Responsibilities
The Fundraising Officer is responsible for a number of central fundraising dossiers: proactively developing and following up our contacts with major donors, companies & private foundations, and developing and following up co-financing in Belgium at the level of communities, provinces and cities.
Identify, apply for and intensively follow up co-financing and subvention dossiers through small institu-tional funds in Belgium at the level of municipalities, cities, provinces, regions, NGO federations and um-brella organisations, and service clubs;
Proactively develop and follow up on fundraising with companies (Corporate Fundraising) and founda-tions;
Support of the department for the other fundraising activities;
In the medium term, there is room for growth opportunities due to the retirement of a colleague.
This position is also open to an employee with less experience. In this case, he/she will be coached by our Philanthropy Advisor. The motivation and attitude is a determining factor here.
Profile
Education
You have a relevant education at academic level (e.g. specialisation in marketing, sales,...). Or equivalent relevant work experience.
Knowledge and experience
3 years of proven experience as a fundraiser or relevant experience in the private sector;
Good knowledge of the Belgian institutional and business landscape is recommended;
Good knowledge of all actors that offer an opportunity for fundraising in Belgium;
Familiar with maintaining personalised (business) contacts at a high level (relationship management);
Fluent knowledge of Dutch (native language level), French and English is a must.
Skills
You can work fluently with CRM.

You have a mature, enterprising and determined personality;

Knowing how to convey enthusiasm and engagement at a good level with an appropriate communication style
