FAIRTRADE INTERNATIONAL SEARCHES FOR IMMEDIATE EMPLOYMENT A .NET/MVC DEVELOPER (hosted at Fairtrade Belgium Brussels)
To support our activities, together with other Fairtrade Organizations (Fairtrade Netherlands, Fairtrade/Max Havelaar France) Fairtrade Belgium has developed a B2B web application based on .NET MVC and hosted in Microsoft Azure.
As part of the development team (currently two staff -Michael and Serge- hosted at Fairtrade Belgium) and in close coordination with the product owner and support team ((Neal, Sophie) hosted at Max Havelaar France), you will play a key role in the maintenance and development of the application.
Your Mission
You will be in contact with Fairtrade Organizations in more than 25 countries, for the technical and functional aspects of a custom line-of-business web application known as Fairtrade Connect.
You will provide 3rd line technical support, troubleshoot and qualify incidents, and supervise and implement resolution (1st line is with the local country, 2nd line is functional support, initial qualification & dispatching).
You will actively contribute to the developments and coding (in-house), with support from the team, in accordance with development priorities coordinated by the product owner
You will be designing and building application layers
You will be writing test-backed server-side code You will be analysing requirements and designing new functionality
Your Profile
You are tech-savvy, you like to experiment with innovative technologies, and are a fast learner.
You have a deep understanding of Data and are capable of structuring/modelling data to meet business requirements.
You have proficient knowledge in Object Oriented programming and the C# language.
You are familiar with application design patterns (dependency injection, singleton, etc..)
You are familiar with ORM tools, eg. Entity Framework
You have experience in developing .NET (4.7) and MVC applications
You have experience with IDEs (Visual Studio) and Source Control (FTS, Git)
You have experience in designing and querying RDBMS databases with T-SQL
You have an understanding of HTML , CSS, Javascript/Jquery, Ajax
You are familiar with cloud environments (Azure/AWS/..)
Additional knowledge or experience with the following technologies or patterns is a plus : DevOps, NoSQL databases, data warehousing, semantic models, Serverless functions, Machine learning/Artificial Intelligence
You have the ability to analyse and explain complex information concisely
You are service minded, proactive and pragmatic
You have minimum 2 to 4 years of experience as developer
You are able to work independently, you are well organized and can prioritize
You are fluent in English (both written and spoken). French and Dutch is a plus.
